Wat Yan Nasangwararam Woramahawihan, commonly known as Wat Yan, is a sprawling temple complex located just over a 30-minute drive away from our luxury hotel in Pattaya. Under the patronage of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, its construction began in 1973 and was overseen by Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the 19th Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Sangha. The monastery covers an impressive expanse of 58.64 hectares. The goal of constructing Wat Yanasangvararam was to create a Vipassana meditation training center near Bangkok and establish it as the Buddhist monastery for the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The compound is divided into four zones: Buddhavas, Sanghavas, Karavas, and an expansive section dedicated to host various royal-initiated and royal development projects.
